As a general proposition, however, an individual who has suffered an injury sufficient to justify medical treatment is entitled to additional compensation. The law requires that an injured person be made whole to the greatest extent possible. This contemplates: compensation for pain and suffering, mental anguish, loss of ability to enjoy life, impairment and lost wages and diminished earning capacity.
